About

Here, we explored synthetic melanin nanoparticles as UV-protective additives for Escherichia coli lysate-based cell-free systems used in a variety of point-of-use applications. By leveraging their broadband absorption and radical scavenging properties, we enhanced reaction stability under prolonged UV exposure, extending the long-term potential of these highly field-deployable freeze-dried systems.
