Julius has been named a 2013 Office of Naval Research Young Investigator Award recipient. The ONR Young Investigator Program (YIP) seeks to identify and support academic scientists and engineers who show exceptional promise for doing creative research. The program aims to attract these rising stars to the Department of Navy’s research program, to support their research, and to encourage their teaching and research careers.
Julius is one of 16 ONR Young Investigators chosen this year. He is also the third member of the Cornell CBE faculty to have received this award. As an ONR Young Investigator, the Lucks group will further their goals of engineering RNA regulators for precise and dynamic control of cellular function.
