Tim is the recipient of the 2014 Cornell Engineering Alumni Association Undergraduate Research Award! Given to the most outstanding undergraduate researcher in the whole Engineering College, this award is one of the highest honors bestowed on undergraduate researchers. Tim received the award because of his extreme enthusiasm, hard work, and dedication to pursuing research in our lab. Over the past year and a half, Tim has been working with Kyle to adapt our RNA structure probing methods (SHAPE-Seq) to work on RNAs expressed in cells. Thanks to Tim’s hard work we are now learning fascinating things about how RNAs fold inside the cell, which is opening up a whole new research direction for the lab! Way to go Tim!
