Sarai and Melissa received  AIChE Women’s Initiatives Committee Travel Awards to attend the AIChE national meeting in Atlanta in November. These are prestigious awards, based on their strong scholastic achievement combined with a demonstrated passion towards the mission of WIC – promoting the entry, development, and participation of women with AIChE and profession of chemical engineering. Sarai and Melissa, both NSF Graduate Fellows, have strong track records of promoting women in engineering through helping organize and run multiple outreach activities. They will both be presenting their research at the AIChE meeting – Sarai will be presenting her work on engineering new types of RNA regulators, and Melissa will be presenting her work on using TX-TL to characterize RNA circuitry dynamics, as well as using SHAPE-Seq to engineer RNA regulators.

Congratulations Sarai and Melissa!
