The Lucks lab is excited to announce that Dr. Khalid Alam was selected to join Chain Reaction Innovations (CRI)! Khalid was one of five innovators chosen for CRI cohort 3 out of more than 120 applicants in a two-part pitch competition.
CRI is a two-year program at the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Argonne National Laboratory for entrepreneurs who are developing startups in energy and science technologies. Through this program, Argonne supports innovators with lab and office facilities, scientific and business mentorship, and networking opportunities.
CRI will support Khalid in developing Stemoop, a startup that he is co-founding with Julius. Stemloop will focus on advancing cell-free synthetic biology and molecular engineering to create new biosensing platforms. At Argonne, Khalid will have the opportunity to learn more about the science and entrepreneurship of transforming these innovations into real-world products. Congratulations, Khalid!
