Tyler Lucci Joins the Lab!

Tyler Lucci, a chemical engineering PhD student, is joining the Lucks lab! Tyler earned his B.S. from SUNY Buffalo in 2016 and completed the M.S.CEP program at MIT in 2017. Tyler then joined Corning Incorporated where he worked as a chemical process engineer. At Corning, Tyler studied ion exchange for glass article strengthening, including the chemical mechanisms by which additives act to maintain glass quality, how the glass matrix structure is affected by its chemical environment during ion exchange, and relationships between the glass matrix structure and product quality. In the Lucks lab, Tyler plans to work on the characterization, development, and forward engineering of cell free biosensors.

In his free time, Tyler enjoys fishing, kayaking, and backpacking. On Sundays in the fall, Tyler can usually be found watching the Bills lose.
